Periwinkle and Pearl Gown

Description

This started off as an underskirt for the noble gown I've started, then branched off into its own outfit when I decided to make use of the extra purple fabric I had and some unused gold trim. The fabric is 100% silk (normally $20 a yard, I got it for $4.50 a yard, I was so proud). It laces up the back, has three pieces of boning, lined with 100% cotton corseting coutil. I found the two necklaces (one is now draped around the waist) and the gold and pearl scarf clip in my mom's old jewelry boxes. The gold bag hanging off the waist is silk as well, with a caul to match. Two and a half days for the whole thing. I made it on a whim and made it fast. It was fun and easy. Hehe. I think I could call this lower noble. (It looks much better on me than on the dress form, believe me; pictures of that, coming soon)

You got SILK for $4.50 a yard?!?! That is no fair! Ok, I went and got some cheap rayon-polyester stuff a little while back to make a skirt, and that was on sale for $4 a yard! I wish I could find silk that inespensive... must check the remnants section next time I go shopping...

But anyway, the bodice is absolutely gorgeous with all the gold trim. Shiny...
Which reminds me.. why the heck am I not watching you yet?

+watch. :D
