Elizabethan Smock by immortalphoenix Elizabethan Smock by immortalphoenix
This was the first thing an Elizabethan Lady put on. It is worn underneath everything else so it can absorb body moisture and oils and therefore protect the larger and much more difficult to launder gowns and the corset, and also prevents the corset from chafing the skin. 100% white 3.5 oz linen. Top is a full view, bottom is a close up of the neckline. T-shape enables all pieces to be cut on the square, therefore saving fabric. Period design. It hits me at the bottom of my knee. (Yes, it has been worn, and that is why it is wrinkled.)
