Empire style, circa 1810. Made from a Butterick pattern, which explains its horridness. Not until after I bought this and started working on it did I discover what these are actually supposed to look like. No darts in front, not gathered on side, gathered on neck edge and under bust, supposed to be a light fabric like lawn or muslin, and so on. But I figured, what the hell, I'm going to finish it anyway, and I'll make it prettyish if I can, despite its glaring historical inaccuracy.
Began Spring 2004, stopped, then finished Winter 2004
wow. i think i notice oooh pretty before historical accuracy here pink's not normally my favorite, but it looks very nice here. suits the shape of the dress. suits you too. did you make this for a particular occasion or just felt like it? (and congrats for finishing it!)

lol, once again, not me, my friend modeling it for me. we were going to make a movie, and we decided to set it in the regency time period because the dresses were easier than any other time, but we never ended up making the movie. but i have the dress in case we ever do. lol.

the back is kind of open and gappy, i was too lazy to finish it, i'd be showing more than i wanted to if i went into public in that. then again, i've gone into public on several occasions in my elizabethan, which displays my chest nicely, so i dunno... lol

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
